Brookland is located in the Northeast quadrant of D.C. For real estate buyers it has a suburban feel, with green trees lining the streets, along with houses featuring Victorian, colonial, and bungalow styles. The different styles of homes give this neighborhood a distinct flair, which residents love. Brookland is also home to a few distinct tourist attractions such as the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the largest Catholic Church in the Unites States. Catholic University, Howard University, and Trinity University are also located in this area, adding vibrant students and professors to the population mix. Brookland is growing due to the addition of large shopping developments and new restaurants. On Brookland’s main street residents enjoy eateries, and the local grocery store, including Yes! Organic Market. 

When it comes to Washington, DC real estate this neighborhood is becoming a more desirable place to live for many new homebuyers. The houses tend to be reasonably priced even though this neighborhood is close to the city.  Row houses and apartments line the edge of this neighborhood, but the neighborhood mostly consists of houses around the median price of $504,000.

Brookland is served by Brookland-CUA, the Redline metro stop located at Monroe and 9th Street. Buses run through the neighborhood making it easy to get around, and get in and out of the city.

There are public schools and many charter schools in the area. John Burroughs Education Campus, Elsie Whitlow Stokes Charter School, and Perry Street Prep Public Charter School are just a few schools in the area. Archbishop Carroll High School is one of the main private schools near this neighborhood.
